Well done MB - Pies faltered after half time but fair effort.

Was really our VFL contingent trying out.

they had about 12 afl listed players on their playing roster, we had three.

tapping was relatively pleased with the result given the inequities.

Your very welcome laird and OTM.

My thoughts on the 2 senior boys:

- Paine great in the 1st half. 3 goals and some good marks, including a lunging one-handed grab on the boundary line deep in the forward pocket. Went MIA in the 2nd half, but given how we faded and how our delivery deteriorated, that's understandable.

- Yagmoor was quiet but solid. Did scrub a few kicks though. Had one good piece of play when he gathered in the forward pocket, ran in and shot for goal. He missed, but his dad (who was sitting near me) got all excited by the build up (but cursed after Peter missed the goal. )

A respectable effort from what was virtually a pure VFL team.

Add guys like Dwyer, Martin, Frost, Seedsman, Elliott, Witts and some borderline seniors like Didak (he'll spend considerable time in the VFL, you would think) and any of Russell/Goldsack/Clarke/Fasolo/Keeffe, plus the 1st year draftees, it becomes a very dangerous side again...

Thanks for the updates MB. Much appreciated :)

In regards to the Pies, we had a great first half but we seemed to run out of legs in the second half. Considering the team we fielded, it was no surprise but I was happy with our efforts. There are plenty of promising signs ahead. I'd love to see a major improvement in our side this year after last year's disappointing year.

Very happy to hear Paine performed well.
