Pre Match: Pies V Freo - Please post all comments here

Post by Carders »

Jus so ppl knew here is the weather forecast for Saturday:

12th July 2003

Min: 9
Max: 15

Showers, Windy, Hail At times

Now I know this is only a forecast, knowing the weather beaurau it could be a sunny 30 degree day :) but considering Freo's very poor record in the wet this year, this would have to put things even more in our favor.

What does everyone think?

Perfect Game For McKee

Post by tdesmaele »

This is the game Malthouse should play McKee. He is one of the best ruckmen going around for a game in wet conditions.

32 degrees plus here - every day of the year. just to rub it in.
a lot of rain in perth over the past two weeks for their training and freo will have learnt from their woeful effort in the rain v richmond earlier in the year. dont think the weather will be much advantage to us unfortunately.

I really don't think the weather is going to be much of an inpact in the game. Last week against Brisbane they won, and it was wet, the wet could have taken a little out of Freo. I think it will be a close game, Freo will be fired up after a win against Brisbane, and Collingwood will be fired up to win this game for Bobby Rose. So it should be a good game, I am hopeful of a Collingwood win, but it's not going to be an easy one. Unless Freo gets tired, and Collingwood over run them in the 2nd half. I think Collingwood will have a bit more run in their legs then Fremantle, and I really don't think the travel will have much difference as it didn't with West Coast ealier in the year.

I am so confident of collingwood winning this week, that i went and put $100 on them to win, and i rarely gamble. With the passing of bobby rose there will be no way in hell that collingwood will lose this week.

Lets be logical......We are playing FREO on our terms and not at their home ground,so therefore we will give them a BATH.
The score ont be important, just the fact that we will beat them on OUR TURF and not in WA.

Should be a great game. We must come out firing, and keep the ball moving (as we always should). Any thoughts on matchups?

I just hope that the week is not TOO emotional for them and they lose focus on the game plan. It didn't help Carlton last Sunday against a side they had a realistic chance of beating, and when Teddy Whitten died the Bulldogs lost their next game. I think sometimes emotion can work against a club, but I still think we'll win by 4 goals +

Yep, the Bullies did lose their next game after Ted Whitten died, and according to someone on BigFooty, that next game was v. Fremantle!

Is Rhyce Shaw a chance to return this week? If so who would we drop?

I hope he's ready to return this week, not only would it be fantastic to see the number 22 running around, but we really need him after Clement's injury.

I thought I heard that Clement's injury wasn't that serious? If Shaw is ready, I think Kinnear might be dumped for this week's game.
