Sun.July 6th Willi.V Port game broadcast on 97.4FM from 1:30

Post by Mick Gallus »

On Sunday July 6th from 1:30PM Stereo 974 (97.4FM) is covering the TXU-VFL match of the round between the 2nd placed Williamstown and the 3rd placed Port Melbourne.

Williamstown under the tutelage of 2 time premiership coach Brad Gotch are flying having only lost 2 games for the season so far.

The forward line is the best in the league averaging over 100 points per game. Marcus Baldwin-34gls,Josh Mahoney-30gls and Ben Kinnear 21 gls are stretching defences each week.

The ruck work of the Collingwood youngsters Guy Richards and Cameron Cloke is to be seen to be believed as they both try to out do each other for that debut berth in the Collingwood senior side.

The defence which is the second best in the league is being led by Co-Captain Troy West ably supported by Tristan Walker, Nick Maxwell, Glen Freeborn and Jeremy Dukes.

The magnificent seven midfield sees Josh Mahoney, Sam Cranage, Brad Lloyd, Adrian Fletcher, Heath Scottland, Dane Swan, and Mark McGough getting plenty of the football.

The Collingwood young guns of the future in Luke Shackleton, Bo Nixon, Luke Mullins and David King are getting valuable game time and are showing why they were drafted by the Magpies,

If you want the best coverage at the game or at home tune your radio to Stereo 974 (97.4FM) to hear a professional and entertaining team that rivals the commercial networks AFL coverage of football. The team sees Mick Gallus and Sean McManus leading the commentary. Heath Buck Ex-CH 7 Hammerhead full forward is the best special comments man in Victoria. Jo Wottan covers the boundary, David Bonnici the stats and Mark Stone is the match day reporter.

Onya Mick, another excellent preview to what will be an intense struggle.

With Port coming off successive losses, they will be determined to get back into a winning frame of mind, and with Williamstown facing the bye next week, will need to win to keep Box Hill, and top spot, in their sights.

With last nights empathic victory, the CFC listed players will want to put in stellar performances if they want to get a senior call-up, but the Port players will be just as determined as there are sure to be changes to the Roos line-up next week.

This is shaping up to be a Williamstown v Port Melbourne game reminiscent of bygone days, and I'm sure that anyone who attends todays game will witness a game that could rank amongst the best.
