greta effort ru, well done.

in the history of the gb medal how many times has the winner taken out the copeland?

also, with the awards, tony francis' name should be attached to the best first year player ... given he kick started his career. ;)

Four times:

2008: Dane Swan
2009: Dane Swan
2010: Dane Swan
2012: Dayne Beams

Swan also won the GB Medal in 2006 and 2011 but Didak and Pendles won the respective Copelands (Swan still won the Brownlow in 2011 and got our highest Brownlow total in 2006!). Tarkyn Lockyer, meanwhile, won the GB Medal in 2007 and Cloke won the Copeland).

Congrats Beamsy. But really, he had it in the bag. Both the GB and the Copeland. Should have won the Brownlow, too, and made it a trifecta.

To win the Brownlow he would have needed to surround himself with spuds and dunces. How Swannie won it last year is anybody's guess ... it's a spud's spud award for spuds. Et tu, Watson
