Match v Pt Melbourne 06.07.03 UPDATE

Post by Dale61 »

A win against Port Melbourne next week will see Williamstown go two games ahead as Port suffered their second successive loss on the weekend. A victory is also important so as to keep us within sight of Box Hill, who are now one game clear of The Seasgulls.

Next weeks match is to be played on Sunday at TEAC Oval, Williamstown Rd, Port Melbourne with a 2pm kickoff. The reserves start at 11.30am.

Will add further info, results and pics from the game to this thread so as to keep it all tidy.

Williamstown got pumped to the tune of 45 points by a far more determined, and disciplined, Port Melbourne.

Not one player was a stand out as they all drifted in and out of the game for what you would call cameo appearances.

The most impressive was Luke Mullins, who is starting to show why he was rated so highly by the CFC recruiting department.

CFC players like McGough, Scotland, Davis and Swan performed well below what was expected, and if it wasn't for Marcus Baldwin's three goal effort, the final score would have been an even bigger embarrassment.

Final Score:
Will: 2.1.13 ~ 3.1.19 ~ 4.6.30 ~ 8.11.59
PM: 5.1.31 ~ 6.8.44 ~ 10.12.72 ~ 15.14.104

Goals: Baldwin 3, Swan, King, Richardson, Mullins, Mahoney.

Pics to follow.

The Williamstown loss

Post by Mick Gallus »

A very true and accurate summary Dale. Mullins certainly is a player of the future. Great photos.

If yesterday was any indication of how they perform after a bye, Frankston might think themselves a chance to knock them over.

I just hope that this is a wake-up call and they realise that they can't rest on their laurels.

BTW Mick, great call yesterday.

willi's poor performance

Good comment Dale.
Gotchy certainly was worried about the sides ability to beat the top sides.
What are you to do this week with the Willi bye?
A reco. job on Frankston for next week?

With the predicted weather that we are expecting this weekend, it may be a blessing in disguise that Williamstown have the bye as you know only too well what it's like at Point Gellibrand on a cold day. Don't think I could handle another nasty day out in the open.

I have to work on Saturday, so will listen to the Pies v Shockers on MMM, then hope there's some motor racing on cable TV on Sunday. If not, and depending on the weather, I might give my 1/10th scale RC Subaru a run, or if wet, might race my Sprintcar (the PS2 version - LOL).
