No Gulls this weekend

Post by Clemo »

Willi is not playing the scheduled practise match this weekend. So what are our Magpie listed players gonna be doing then to get form and experience ? Let's hope they at least have an intra-club.

So Clemo, the way I read your post, is that the Williamstown players dont deserve to have the week off?

Are you more concerned over the form of the CFC listed players then the season-long welfare of the Williamstown players?

I say give the Williamstown players the weekend off, but as they have the bye on 13 July, play an intra-club match then. If a player is down on form, I really cant see how an intra-club match will do them any good, other than keeping them match fit.

Dale. Nah, I am not worried about them having the week off. I just think that our Magpie listed players who are experienced are not gonna be doing anything to get a bit form and guys like Cloke & Nixon are missing valuable experience. That is all. :)

I think it's the guys like Cloke and Nixon that really need the week off. Being their first year at this level, they need time to freshen up, both physically and mentally, and prepare themselves to help consolidate Williamstown's excellent first half of the season.

And besides, the more experienced players - Kinnear, Betheras, McKee - all had last weekend off anyway. As Benny said during an interview with Stereo974, he was given an RDO.

Absolutely agree - give the first year players the week off . They either have or are expected to take a big step up in their first year & they all develop at different rates & hopefully they'll play for the club for 10+ years .
