Tapping the New VFL Head Coach?

I read somewhere that Tarks was let go and Tapping is the new head coach.

Is that True?

COLLINGWOOD has appointed Dale Tapping as coach of its VFL team, taking over from Tarkyn Lockyer.

Tapping had a development role with Collingwood this year after joining it from the Sandringham Dragons.

He guided the Dragons to the TAC Cup premiership in 2011 and was Under 18s coach of the year in 2010.

The 100-game Prahran VFA player also coached successfully in the VAFA, winning a flag with Old Brighton and taking Old Scotch to a pair of preliminary finals. He also had a stint with the Western Jets.

The Collingwood VFL team has been disappointing in the past two seasons, finishing 4-14.

Lockyer is expected to remain on the coaching staff.

Good credentials, knows his stuff, has a good record developing young players.

Here's hoping for a more fruitful year in the VFL in 2013...
