Zimbos Thrashed by ... Who ? Ireland ??!!

Post by Donny »

Zimbabwe would have been looking for a good showing and a confidence boost when they took on Ireland in a one dayer at Belfast, yesterday.

Ireland won the toss and sent Zimbabwe in. It was a good move as they had them 3/12 early. Ebrahim (52) and Matsikenyeri (50) fought back with 96 for the 4th. wicket and Taibu (35) and Friend (22) got starts but the Irish bowlers just kept taking wickets.

The other seven Zimbos scored 4, 5, 1, and 4 ducks !! Ireland were chasing 183 to win.

I reckon the Irish team must have trained on the Aussie team's videos as they came out and walloped Zimbabwe without losing a wicket. And it only took them 33.4 overs !!

Molins scored 107 n.o. and Bray, 67 n.o. Zimbabwe rested Streak and Blignaut but still a disaster for them and a great victory for Ireland.

Ireland v. Bangladesh ? I'd like to see THAT !!

It's a game. Enjoy it. :D

Zimbabwe brought back streak and blignaut for their second meeting with Ireland. A different story.

Ireland won the toss and batted. The same two batsmen who put on 183 to win the first game by 10 wickets, scored 0 and 9 and were part of a 5/35 top order crash inflicted by Streak (3/29) and Blignaut (2/32).

Hondo was a bit expensive but took wickets. He finished with 3/53 as Ireland totalled 196.

Zimbabwe won easily in 40.1 overs, losing only 2 wickets. Ebrahim scored 81 n.o.
