Both teams are coming off wins - ours was expected, Hawthorn's was a shock.

Have Hawthorn finally found some form? Will the inclusion of Barker cause us some problems (he kicked 7 goals for Box Hill last week)? Crawf and Mitchell racked up heaps of possessions on the weekend - can our midfield stop them?

Who have they got to stop Tarrant, currently in blistering form? Will Fraser do the job again in the ruck? And WILL NATH PLAY?????

This is a must win to consolidate ourselves before the break.
I would think that we would win this game.

Watched Hawthorn last week and even though they won they were not that good. However Crawford and Mitchell both played great games as mentioned earlier. Mitchell and Joel Smith both attended the Collingwood v Melbourne game as i saw them pre match.

The impression i got from watching talking footy was that Joel Smith will play on Tarrant. If that was the case i would be more than happy with Tarrant being left in the goal square.

If we play four quarters of solid football we should win as the Dorks aint that good. Really if you look at Hawthorns record they were extremely lucky to beat WCE and have only just beaten Carlton and Adelaide.

Dorks were lucky to win against Crows from a quick kick off the boot from McLeod that dribbled to a Dork player who kicked a goal putting them in front. They are not that good and I don't rate them at all.

Crawford will need to be contained although I don't consider him a real worry, or any of their players actually. They will be pumped after last week and I'm glad they won for the fact they can go back to a loss on Sunday. Bux won't play and will be fully rested over the break. Josh to continue in the ruck and will out do the big spider. Give him hell Joshy.

Pies by 33 (or more, why not a thumping?? We know we want (another) one!!).

Pies by 37 points.
Who will play on Johnny Barker?
Will Mckee be bought back into the side to help Fraser in the ruck as Everitt is a quality ruckman?

I think Buckley will be rested again as we have the bye the following week and Malthouse does not need to risk him this week. Joel Smith has played on Tarrant the last few times and he probably will have the job again.

Ah that sort of rubbish just really irritates me. What, all of a sudden Hawks are quality? Purlease. What b/c they beat a depleted Crows side that nearly pinched it from them. Give another 5 secs and Crows would have won it. Yes their "fighting spirit", they are always fighting and clawing their way to a win, it's trademark Hawthorn. How many times have we seen them down by 4 goals in the fourth to try and make a comeback. They are a classic "catch up football" team.

And what else really shits me is that we thumped Dees but is anyone talking about it (apart from us) - no. It's all about how shit Melb are not how good we are.

Bloody well give it to em Pies, thump em. I hate Hawthorn and they need to be shown how a REAL QUALITY team plays. I know games are never easy or a gimme. It's a must win game for us on the road to September action.

This idiot rang up on 3AW last night and thinks Hawthorn are going to finish on 13 wins for the year starting with an easy victory agains the pies this week.

Currently Hawthorn have 4 wins so they need to win 9 of their next 11.

Here is their draw:

ROUND 12
Sunday 15 June 2003
Collingwood vs. Hawthorn MCG

ROUND 13
Sunday 29 June 2003
Hawthorn vs. Fremantle York Park

ROUND 14
Saturday 5 July 2003
Hawthorn vs. Western Bulldogs MCG

ROUND 15
Sunday 13 July 2003
Brisbane Lions vs. Hawthorn Gabba

ROUND 16
Saturday 19 July 2003
Hawthorn vs. Melbourne MCG

ROUND 17
Friday 25 July 2003
West Coast vs. Hawthorn Subiaco (n)

ROUND 18
Sunday 3 August 2003
Hawthorn vs. Port Adelaide MCG

ROUND 19
Saturday 9 August 2003
Sydney vs. Hawthorn SCG (n)

ROUND 20
Saturday 16 August 2003
Kangaroos vs. Hawthorn Telstra Dome (n)

ROUND 21
Friday 22 August 2003
Hawthorn vs. Carlton MCG (n)

ROUND 22
Sunday 31 August 2003

Hawks would need to improve a lot to get to 9 wins.
