Actually that was Ceglar
Was only going off of twitter.

Mind you, I can't for the life of me imagine how anyone could get them confused. Ceglar is tall, Witts is taller.

His defensive efforst and on-field leadership was outstanding.
We looked very solid in the backline and from there we were able to build a great win.

Interesting that when we took the foot off the peddle with 5 to go Port slammed in a couple of cheap goals. The defensive effort was something Tarks and Krita pressed in the pre-match to all the players and if that is what we get....September here we come :D

Bendigo next and it will be the best way to prove that Port didn't just have a bad game (which is what some may put the result down to). We did outplay a very good team.

Nick Riddle was my BOG BTW.
Superb in the air and at ground level. wears his opponent like a Gayfer and has fantastic disposal.
Shae has no Feel for the Game though with ball in Hand.

Bendigo will be a Intresting Game

I'm a fan of Shae's but he can be up one week and down the next.

Nonetheless, I'm pleased with his form so far as a key defender, and would have to have played well yesterday if is game is being considered good by other people, considering that he was playing against the deadly Port Melboure forward line.

I wonder if he is a smokey for a senior game this year. Do international rookies have to be promoted onto the senior list like normal rookies, or can you just play them without having to use up a slot on the list?

The ladder after round 8:

G W L D B % P

Port Melbourne 8 7 1 0 0 175.66 28
Casey Scorpions 7 6 1 0 1 106.00 24
Sandringham 7 5 2 0 1 127.89 20
Geelong Cats 6 4 2 0 2 109.73 16
Werribee Tigers 7 4 3 0 1 107.44 16
Williamstown 7 4 3 0 1 100.51 16
Box Hill Hawks 7 3 4 0 1 96.24 12
Coburg Tigers 7 3 4 0 1 89.79 12

Bendigo 6 2 4 0 2 85.33 8
Collingwood 6 2 4 0 2 84.80 8
North Ballarat 7 2 5 0 1 80.43 8
Northern Blues 6 1 5 0 2 83.93 4
Frankston 7 1 6 0 1 67.78 4

If we beat Bendigo next week, we are into the top 8, possibly as high as 7th if the Roosters fall over the line against the Hawks...

Actually, we face off with Bendigo again later in the season up in Bendigo, at the Queen Elizabeth Oval on Saturday August 4th.

So you'll be able to see the boys in action in your own backyard after all. :)
