Danniher or however it's spelt had the option of two clubs. He than chose Essendon.Fire Up wrote:any team can get the kid. the highest bidder (club) gets him. the afl have changed the rule haven't they.
At this point, all clubs sit together and discuss when they would chose Danniher. He was touted as a No.1 pick in the 2012 national draft. If not at least top 5.
This being the case, the teams that would have selected him would say we would use our round one pick for him. Essendon are obliged at this point to use round 1. If Essendon said no, we want to use R2, then he's back on the market.
If he was to go round 6 or 7 Essendon then could wait for R6 or 7 to grab him.

He's not eligible to be drafted until 2014. He's only 16.Beast wrote:Bucks telling him to concentrate on his current form and that there's no guarantees pretty much spells out we did get him nowANNODAM wrote:Have seen this kid play & he's awesome!
He plays in the same team as my mates son.
Get him & get him NOW!
We are pretty much sure to recruit Craig Stewart's son this year however.
The problem with these father-sons is that they are all key position players. We have a big hole in the midfield, with none of the current crop of our juniors looking like they will be stars.
I think we will have to trade out one or two of our young key position players to bring in some quality young midfielders.

He must be taller than they say in the article as peter was a 6 foot 6 ruckman. unless his dad is standing in a pot hole for the photo.

Yeah I'm aware he's too young to be drafted for some time, was simply reading between the lines and suggesting Darcey to Pies is just about a done deal.Trezegol wrote:He's not eligible to be drafted until 2014. And as they say a quality big men are hard to find so in the worst case scenario we'll have some bargaining chips in years to come.
PS. don't forget Elijah Edwards who despite his lack of size is being groomed to play in the guts.
