VFL Round 7 - Around the Grounds
Saturday
Geelong vs Casey @ Kardinia Park (10:00pm, AFL curtain-rasier)
Port Melbourne vs Williamstown @ North Port Oval (1:10pm, TV game)
Coburg vs Werribee @ Coburg City Oval (2:00pm)
Box Hill vs Frankston @ Box Hill City Oval (2:00pm, radio game)
Sunday
Sandringham vs Bendigo @ Trevor Barker Beach Oval (2:00pm, radio game)
BYE: Collingwood, North Ballarat, Northern Blues
My tips:
Geelong to repeat history and devour the Melbourne reserves in a precursor to the bloodbath that their senior ranks will inflict upon the Demons.
Port in a close one against a vengeful Willy, 2-3 goals maximum, in what is shaping as the closest, highest standard game of football to be played in either the AFL or VFL this Saturday.
Werribee by 5 goals in the Battle of the Tigers.
Box Hill in a canter.
Sandy by 5 goals.
Over to you...

Jack Viney taken to hospital with suspected broken jaw. Playing his first game for Casey after special permission from the AFL was granted, as Melbourne have committed to drafting him F&S in this years draft.

Ouch. That is a real bitch, going to hospital in your first game. Welcome to the big time, young fella.stui magpie wrote:^

On that note of Father/Son, is it possible that James Stewart could play for our VFL team in the same manner, getting special permission from the AFL if we commit to drafting him, given that he is technically allocated to Sandringham?

^ Love your confidence Dave, and don't get me wrong, I think that's great.
But Port have comprehensively taken the 2nd best team in the comp apart today. So unless Tarrant, Thomas and Jolly all get up and play in the ressies next week, we are looking at a flogging as well.
Actually, if Wood plays seniors next week (vomit!), it will leave us a little less top heavy at VFL level, so Witts and Ceglar can ruck and leave the forward line for the forwards.

^ Werribee were touted as flag contenders, but have been in indifferent form. Willy are Hawthorn to Port's Geelong. Sandringham blow hot and cold. Casey are middle of the road. Geelong turn up one week, don't bother the next. North Ballarat are a broken team.
Who can stop the boys from North Port?
