Good 3 Quarters of Football, good game by many, our ruck's look good this week. Are forwards looked good, Williams dropped too many marks, Lokan cost us a goal, but got it back when he kicked 2 goals. Shaw played a very good game, and it was good to see him able to wear "B.R" on the back of his jumper. Very good win for the Pies, now let's turn out the power.

Good to see the form of Brodes, Josh, Leon, Lokes, Rhycy & Clokey.

Blokes like Taz, Bucks, Licka, Burnsy, Woey & Clemo were ok too.

Next week however will be more of a measuring stick.

Fantastic game by Tazz. 17 marks, 6 goals! Keep it up Tazza,

Great game by a lot of them, but i'd really like to know why Brodie Holland handballs almost every time he has possession. 6 marks and each time, he just handballed and it ended up in bad play. Is he afraid to kick?

I loved the first quarter, fast, furious, football. That's how we win games. I'd like to see them do that for 4 quarters. Was just so exciting to watch.

Great game guys, now on to Port!

And my points go to:
5 Chris Tarrant
4 Nathan Buckley
3 Scotty Burns
2 Paul Licuria
1 Leon Davis/Matthew Lokan/Shane WoeWoden and everyone else!

Yeah excellent game tonight. Best performance all season. Got the jitters in the 2nd quarter though and thought "Here we go again!", but they hung in and capitalized on it in the last half. Just a few points:

1. Leon answered his critics tonight I thought.

2. Taz could be a 100+ goal kicker if he went back and steadied and went for goal. I know it's a team game and everything but he's a proven and accurate kick from far. Few turnovers tonight, but great game.

3. Good games from Shaw and Fraser respectively, with Shawry making a point to be a regular senior player.

4. Off the topic a bit... But with the "BR" on Rhyce's jumper, did that need to be approved and does it differ from Jason McCartney's situation for wanting to wear "89" on his jumper?

5. Is that 6 in a row against the Saints now? Too sweet!

6. That stupid hairstyle of Gherig.... what the hell??????????????

7. Umps looked good in the red. keep it like that. Although the clash of colour with the ball, will it be facing the tribunal for making contact tonight after a handpass gone astray?

After following the game in the scoreboard chat - thanks everyone esp. Bob for the commentary - I watched the replay. It just finished.

The last quarter and particularly the last 8 minutes or so was pure joy.

Lica's 3 goals, Shaw's goal and celebration, complete with camera going to Bob and Kevin Rose, Tazza's 6th., Joffa in gold jacket leading the faithful in 'Good Old Collingwood For Ever' and that last great goal from Lokan on the siren.

The singing of the song by the boys was somewhat subdued but that's understandable. There still plenty of work to be done.

But for the next couple of days I'm simply going to enjoy the feeling. I look forward to reading lots more in this thread, especially from those of you lucky enough to have been there.

Go Pies and our thoughts are with you, Bob.

I think after this game will be the turning point for the Collingwood football club. they played 3 quarters like they wanted to win the game, they also looked like they found some passion for the game again. Now I hope the Mighty Magpies beat Port Adelaide, and, go onto the top 4 which will take some work of course. But I think now we can do it, if we play like we did tonight but play 4 quarters.

A win is a win ... for sure.

But I'm not convinced that our season has turned around just yet.

We played a brilliant first quarter. But the latter half of the second quarter was scary. By half-time I was resigned to another miserable ride home in the train. There was no way I thought we'd have the momentum to stop Riewoldt. He was sensational. St.Kilda looked like they were going to completely steamroll us.

Third quarter we gradually re-asserted control ... but some of the football played by both sides in that quarter was an embarrasment to watch. I was convinced I was watching two wooden spoon contenders in action.

Then came the last quarter ... and although we always looked in control, it seemed to take an eternity to deliver the knock-out punch. Then we ran riot when the match was all over ... so it looked like a good win ... ON THE SCOREBOARD.

Best players ...

1.TARRANT
2.TARRANT
3.TARRANT

If this guy ever gets injured we are ROOTED.

Other good players included Leon Davis. I bagged him severely last week (and rightly so) but he played a superb game this week. Showed us why he's still on the list.

Licuria ... celebrated his milestone in fine style.

Burns ... does he know how to play a bad game?

Josh Fraser ... he's definitely on the improve.

That's how I saw it ... with my lousy eyesight  At least I had no trouble telling the teams apart this week ... thanks to St.Kilda and that brilliant yellow strip of theirs. Well done, St.Kilda.

P.S. Was it my imagination ... or did Bucks have an absolute shocker this week?????

Yeah Bucks had his moments, especially that goal from inside the square, but wasn't as effective as in recent weeks

Was that Rob Lowe standing next to Eddie trying to sing the song?

I thought Bucks was in our top 5, Alf you must have bad eyesight, apart from two clangers the guy was again a standout. Remember thompson is a pretty good tagger and bucks still got his usual possessions and kicked some team lifting goals.
I agree we have not turned the corner yet as a 4 quarter performance still alludes us.
That 2nd q was woeful. Brissy would of kicked 10 goals against us. If we are serious contender we must have a more even game across the board.

I thought Taz was fantastic, 17 marks was special, Burns was again fanatstic, Fraser was very good in the ruck and had a go around the ground, leon showed he has his mind back on the job and our two new recruits Shaw and Lokan look to be improving every game.
Good to see Clement come out of his slump and Woey was again servicable.

Big game to come aginst Port as the Demons follow. We could string 3 together and turn 7 and 4, which would put us in the top 4 at the half way mark.
