VFL 2012: Pies v Nth Ballarat - FREE ENTRY & Live on ABC

Post by die4pies »

Yarra City Council wrote:Collingwood Football Club VFL games

In 2009, Council gave the Collingwood Football Club (CFC) permission to play its VFL home games at Victoria Park. Permission was given for the VFL team to play nine games per year at Victoria Park in 2010, 2011 and 2012.

In March 2012, Council was advised by the Collingwood Football Club that there is no longer a requirement for its VFL games at Victoria Park to be fully enclosed. This follows discussions between the CFC and the Victorian Football League.

There will be no requirement for Collingwood to erect temporary fencing around the stadium or to charge for entry. This means residents from across Yarra will be able to attend all games for free.

Previously, Council and the CFC had provided free season passes for the Collingwood VFL home games to residents who live near Victoria Park. These passes will not be distributed this year as residents are now able to attend for free whenever they wish.

It is anticipated that Alan Didak will return via the VFL this week and with the VFL game against North Ballarat conveniently starting at 1:10pm before the evening game against Richmond at the MCG there is every reason for Pies fans to get down to the home of the Mighty Magpies, Victoria Park, to see the game.

It should be a cracker of a crowd in the new look Victoria Park.

Thanks for the heads up Shane, sounds great. It's hard to find time on weekends, but I'd love to drop by if I can. :)

Great news.

Looking forward to what is shaping to be a cracker of a game, with the Roosters stumbling early in the season with consecutive, sizeable losses in the previous fotnight on their home ground. And with the names of Didak, Johnson, Wellingham and potentially Nathan Brown in the side, we have a real chance of getting our first VFL victory for 2012 on the board.

AND it's a televised game! :D

HAHA

I have shocking luck with BBQ's at parks. Either...

1) I don't get a chance to use it.
2) They don't work.

I can picture it now, sitting in the ponnie stand cooking a few snags at half time...

Actually sounds like a pretty damn good idea!

^ Had to do with me carting around a 4 burner. After the VFL having to go to the AFL, still with my 4 burner in hand.

Was tongue in cheek. Saying cooking some snags at half time whilst carting around the 4 burner.
