VFL Round 1 - Around the Grounds

Post by MagpieBat »

Hey guys. I thought we could maybe start a thread to post scores for other VFL games during each round, like they have going on the main board. If not, then that's okay, no biggie.

Particularly seeing as there is no footy on today until the Giants v Swans match in the evening, other than the VFL in Victoria, and we have a bye this week...

Anyway, the other VFL games this weekend:

Saturday
Coburg v Blues @ Coburg City Oval (1:10pm, TV and radio game)

North Ballarat v Werribee @ Eureka Stadium (2:00pm)

Casey v Williamstown @ Casey Fields (6:00pm)

Sunday
Frankston v Port Melbourne @ Frankston Park (2:00pm)

Sandringham v Box Hill @ Trevor Barker Beach Oval (2:00pm, radio game)

BYE: Bendigo, Collingwood, Geelong.

My tips:

Coburg over the Blues (can never pick the Scum at anything, but Coburg have shown that they can beat them in recent times)

Roosters in a close one.

Willy by a few goals.

Port in a landslide.

Sandy in a close one over the Hawks.

Over to you...

^ You would think that they would be wearing the new Northern Blues jumper. The reason why they can't wear the AFL Carlton jumper is, I think, to avoid paying the licence fee.

Although, given that they are playing Coburg at Coburg, they might whip out the red jumper to break the jumper clash...

^^^ the red jumper only comes out when they play at their preston ground. they might have a clash jumper which is all white apart from the logo

I heard that the red jumper was also to break a jumper clash for away games. Of course, you may be right and they wear a white clash jumper. We're about to find out...
