Standouts for VFL in 2012

Post by Culprit »

Forget the AFL players dropping back who will standout for the VFL in 2012?

I am biased but I see young Ricardo Ferraro blitzing as he will be allowed to play his natural game finally.

Big Matty Bolland will kick goals and impress many with his big hands and strong marking.

There are 10 VFL players that get a game for sure. One more spot is available and Magpiebat is on the money with Helliar

The team is then made up of AFL listed players including Rookies. Any spots left because of injury then come from those listed by the CFC (11 in total) but play locally on permit at their local club.

There are still many training and they will cut the list shortly.

Culprit, do you know if any of the other 20 or so on Collingwood's VFL list from last year (apart from Pendles, Condy, Sunny and Eddy) are in the try-outs for this year's list? Guys like Aaron Sharpe, James Tran, Cory Millard and the like?

Here's last year's list:

Matt Hine and David Folino are the only ones still training.

They were all training before Christmas but only those two remain from the 2011 list.

Pat Liston signed at Bonbeach.

Callum Post has been training at Vermont but I heard he was going to another VFL club.

So we look set for a whole new bunch of Fringe players I would suggest.

Hope that helps.

DTM with the VFL players and the mix of rookies and AFL listed players running around this year it's a pretty good squad. Skillfull, Fast and Classy. If we have a good year with injuries top 4 I am looking at.
