Port Melbourne appoint female assistant coach

Post by MagpieBat »

And in other news, another glass ceiling was broken this week, with the appointment of the first female to a coaching position in the Victorian Football League:
Mother of two Peta Searle landed the assistant coaching job at VFL premier Port Melbourne yesterday, ahead of two male applicants, after coaching in the Victorian Women's Football League.

An ecstatic Searle said her appointment to the role was a statement to the football world that women were more than capable of coaching in the top levels of the game.

Congratulations to Peta, and well done Port Melbourne on the appointment.

Good luck to her.
Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down.

She is awesome and another that has helped women's footy go a long way. If you can get to a VWFL Premier game. You will be surprised how good they can play. Girls and Women's football is growing at a rapid rate.
