Post Match Essendon
Had a bad feeling about this one for a while given our ordinary form over the last few weeks (even though we have won 3 games). I am sorry to all the O'Bree fans but his kick that ended up in hirds hands 28 minutes into the third quarter was it for me. He copped a spray off Buckley and he had a decent go back at him too and went on with it. If O'Bree wants to give Buckley a mouthful off words he should start matching his game and use your brains!! He is one of half a dozen good, ordinary players. Too often do nice warm and fuzzy things but when the heat is on, stuff up time and time again. The others are McKee (a trier but not a premiership ruckmen), Leon, (three big games, three disappearances), Didak, (Read the manual on hard ball gets), Woewoedin, (one on one when the ball is in dispute, watch some Scott Burns videos to see how its done) and Molloy (we need more than rough and tumble run on the spot footballers). We can't keep living in hope people, last year was last year, this year is here and now and we aren't delivering. Having said all that, why would you start Fraser and Burns on the best part of the first quarter? And why leave Cloke in the forward line where Tazz should have been given the whole 50m arc to run the Essendon guy off his feet !! At one stage we had Cloke, Molloy, Tazz, Rocca and no small men!! As soon as the ball hit the ground, Essendon were off and running and we were left standing. I want to see more kids introduced as I think at best we are 8th - 6th side this year. Call me harsh but 66 points is not a mistake or bad form, it is a problem that smells of permanent change needed before we have another crack at the big time. Go Pies.

Guys settle down a little. Let's not get carried away here by saying thats the end for us for the year. Yes we did play one of the worst games of footy in a while and yes we do need to play a LOT better...but thats collingwood for you. We can be a very inconsistent team but lets not go negative on them. We need to support them even more when it gets to times like these. You watch us next week, we'll be back to the collingwood we remember from last year and we'll kick sydney's ass!

We can't take anything away from essendon though james hird played an absolute blinder well deserved anzac medalist. We didn't have anyone who could match it with lloyd. Cupido was also dangerous and was hard to contain. But collingwood did play poorly minus a few. Tarrant is a good sign, he continues to lead hard even when well held in the forward line, if he can continue to do so will be a superstar. Josh fraiser also did a lot better.

I'm not giving up on the Pies, only die hard fans would have stayed with them lose after lose, after lose. Collingwood will have to play like the Sydney game is their hardest ever game. They will have to improve greatly to win against Sydney in Sydney. Although they lost, I feel things can only get better. I hope that Woey gets better, because I know he's got a lot of talent. I hope he doesn't end up like a Barry Mitchell, talented player for Sydney, and did nothing for Collingwood. So I think that Woewodin needs a week at Williamstown to get himself into gear.

There are so many negatives that I dont really want to harp on them... However the hardness of Woeful and Williams made me sick in the stomach. If we had the quality to replace them I would not let them play another game in a Magpie jumper.
The only positive is that Fraser is hitting the ball harder as each week goes by.
We are going to find out how important Lokyers work rate and delivery is to us after watching some of todays disposals.
I noticed Buckley has been frustrated with Woeful and O'bree. Having sprayed both of them in various weeks. He has reason, although I thought O'bree tried hard in the clinches today.
It will be a testing time at the club if relationships amongst players start going out the window and they stop supporting eachother on field.
Anyhow at least there is plenty of room for improvement...

Today was the worst we've played since our last game against Essendon.
Face it ... the Bummers are our bogey team.
But the good news is, they are not much good against anyone else, so they're unlikely to be our Grand Final opponent.
It's wake-up time in Pie Land. And the alarm bells will be ringing this week.
Er ... hello, Pies ... wakey wakey ... the season has STARTED !
We are going to crucify the Swans next week. Wholesale changes to the team should be avoided. This is not the time to panic. Most of today's duds will be stars next week.

Don't worry about it, Jen. I'm sure Tess is just having a hissy fit. Or should that be a "Tessie fit".Lorelei wrote:I cannot believe I've just read that post.

Woewodin isn't going to do Collingwood much good next week if he's playing for Willi.Prototype wrote:I hope that Woey gets better, because I know he's got a lot of talent. Woewodin is always going to be a hot and cold type of player. And unless you can find some way of predicting whether he's about to play a good game or not, you've really gotta just leave him in the team and keep your fingers crossed. He's too good a player to drop.

Well that would have to be one of the worst performances I have seen for well over a year. The good news is that next week is a new week and we play the Swans.
Lets get on with it now. I am sure MM will be priming the boys up next week.
I'm not making excuses but does anyone think that last week's game took it out of the boys?

lol! they sure will!Prototype wrote:Oh, well, they will get the roasting of their lives
leon will get the arse for sure this week, it cant go on, hes played like shit for the whole year basically and has had enough chances, back 2 the ressies 4 him.
tazza played well and so did buckley. no one can say tazza is 'lazy' after that effort.
pity more of the supposed 'team' didnt want to be there by the looks of it.
where was woey? he must have had some mysterious powers and knew where the ball would be and tried to get as far away from it as possible, wen he wasnt on the bench that is.
what a dismal and pathetic effort.
essendon are shit this year and we got well and truly SPANKED by them.
the years not over but we dont deserve to be talking finals at the mo.
they all must have caught fingerstuckinarseitis from leon and josh, josh seems to be getting over it but i think leons is overtaking him.
and as 4 u tessa u are obviously having a hissy fit as others already pointed out.

woey.....hes not that bad people come on!!! one bad game....LEONS HAD 20 OF EM!! and same with JOSH! neways today was one of the worst games we've played in seasons.....without buckley i would say we would have lost by at least 90 points
o'bree tried hard and licuria should have had 3 goals in the first 3 minutes however BURNS SHOULD START EVERY MATCH IN THE MIDDLE! why does MM continue to leave his bursts till the second half? hes a champion and deserves to play as long as he can stay on the ground. williams was pretty disappointing...if he only plays well when its a 'soft' match i would question his worth to our side because today he was shocking. i think putting cloke in the forward line was a mistake and we need to keep leon and didak there...or at least brody and didak. mcgough tried hard but seems to lack skills with his feet and so i think shaw would have been a better inclusion.
GO TH PIES WE WILL KILL SYDNEy
