Just heard this on the Port v Willy game on ABC1.
Looks like someone is paying attention to our kids. Is this goodbye to two of our little VFL gems?

Sadly, yes.MagpieBat wrote:Is this goodbye to two of our little VFL gems?
Been on the Sunny bandwagon for a while now and he deserves to play at the elite level.
Just hope he dosnt go to a big rival.
Would make my year if we somehow landed him in the draft. He is well liked around the club, he's very mature and will be a big land for someone.
The questions are:
*Would he be in our current 22?
*Would he have played an AFL game in 2010 or 2011, if he was available on our senior list?
*How would you make room for him when we have to let go of atleast another three players from the senior list? (ie, who's spot does he take).

Sundberg would not be in our BEST 22 given the current state of the list (he might be playing at the moment in place of Rounds). With the run of injuries we've had this year, Sunny might have played in place of McCarthy, Sinclair or again Rounds.
Useful depth player who COULD make it into our best 22 if he plays well enough and has some luck go his way. I mean, Krakouer walked into the 22 (a great player who I love, don't get me wrong, but to do that straight after a premiership) after a couple of NAB Cup games...
As for who you would de-list for him, I would nominate perhaps McCarthy, Rounds, maybe Buckley, maybe Stubbs. Also depends if Brad Dick goes around again next year or retires (our thoughts are with you, Brad).
Maybe we could rookie Sunny to fill Tom Hunter's empty spot, or if we elevate Jye Bolton...
As for Eddy, I think its interesting that he has been invited just a couple of weeks after he tore his ACL... another potential to rookie?
And then there's the problem of fitting Witts and Hartley in there, somewhere...

That'd be No, No, and Exactly the reason the answer to Q1&2 is No.Presti#1Fan wrote:Sadly, yes.MagpieBat wrote:Is this goodbye to two of our little VFL gems?

Don't think he's any better than Stanley or Isles and neither of them would be getting a game at the Pies despite how well they are doing for GCS. To many other options well ahead of them.

Others as well including Lynch, Sniclair and Sandilands from Port Melbourne, along with our boys...
