I was there for just over a half. A very good, determined effort by the boys but no forward targets to speak of. Lost count how many times we kicked straight to Willy backs. I would imagine we will be looking to pick up one or two tall marking forwards in this year's draft. Seemed they had McCaffer running through the middle to work on his match fitness. I was a bit distracted but my best were Thomas, Young, Bolton, Goldsack, Seedsman and Couch. Stubbs injured himself just before half time I think. Was hobbling like it was an ankle but then I noticed he had his knee heavily strapped.
Buckley is too good for VFL as is McCaffer as we know. Ceglar moves well and is strong overhead, but needs to work on his ball handling below his knees. But its his first year.
Sinclair is all guts, determination and courage. Not sure if Thomas will play a senior game this year. He is good enough to be tried but he has missed a lot of footy. Reilly looks lost at times. Farmer did some nice things. Is giving it his all but our forward line is impotent with so many young tall players on the list, he had no support at all.
I heard a little of Tark's 3qtr time address. He seemed reasonably happy (a realist) but noticed we we over possessing the ball in the back half by hand. He wanted us to kick more. When the players streamed forward time and time again we had no targets.
